Default Help with OEM parking sensor

Hi, had an intermittent defect in the park pilot and now it does not work at all. When it's activated it makes a long beep and the yellow P> sing lights up in the dash. So I bought a cheap OP-COM off e-bay and it told me that the rear outer right sensor was defect. I changed it with the rear outer left one (I changed them in between) and the defect moved to the left, so I'm pretty shure it's a faulty sensor. The problem is the dealer here in Romania is asking for 81 Euro (72,5 pounds) for it and that's waaaay to much in my opinion. I've looked on the internet but can't seem to find one anywhere so I thought maybe one of you knows where I can find a cheaper one? GM P/N is 12787793 or BOSH P/N: 0 263 003 208

could be a broken wire - tend to have a lot of these on landrovers - wire chaffes on body and then the sensor gives a failure reading - when its actually ok -

also is it holding a fault that needs clearing via tech 2 ??

Tadpole that's exactly what I need!!! Thanks! It's almost half price of what the dealers are asking here.

Deztroyer, the error code is present at all times. I'm 95% sure it's the sensor because as I said I intercganged the outer sensors and the defect moved with the sensor so could not be the wiring.

So I finaly replaced the faulty sensor and all is OK now. I couldn't resist and broke the faulty sensor to see what's inside. It has a silicone seal and I ripped it off. Water came out of it!!! My conclusion is that since it had a cracked back side and was an exterior rear sensor water from the tire splashed it and got inside and ruined the electronics. It has a PCB inside with some SMD devices. HTH someone else with this intermittent problem.

Pleased to hear you got it sorted ... Most of us have fitted the after market sensors less than £20 as these seem to work well ...............
