    Default front springs

    hi,
i recently became a victim of the infamous cevtra c front spring snap. my mot determined that i had broken both front springs. I have a 2004 vectra cdti 150 sri. does anybody know whether i have different front springs to the standard vectra. I have been to a motor factors and they are quoting £40 ish, but have 3 choices. is the spring shorter or is just more firm, and the lowering comes from a lower chassis.make sense?i am just confused, i dont want to take the spring off and then have to wait to get the right one in.
    Hope someone can help
    cheers

The SRi springs are approx 15mm lower than the standard ones mate. TBH everyone on here would tell you to go for a full Eibach pro spring set (£160ish from LMF). This will only lower your car by approx 15mm (30mm on the stadard set up) and everyone raves about the handling after the Eibachs have been fitted. HTH

    ok,
well does this mean that i should not buy any standard sri front springs or just dont buy vx ones.

The same thing happened to mine at Easter time last year. I now have the Eibach Sport spring kit fitted and I did notice the difference straight away but I am not sure that it wasn't because the old springs were tired. But the Eibachs came highly recommended and they were not expensive, considering the quality.

Now I wants some Bilstein dampers...

I ahve the same problem mate. mine went last weekend , also came back with 3 choices even vx couldnt tell me as they said they will have to remove the old one and see what part number is on it, but by friday it had been narrowed down to 2 as the sri is on a sports chassis. so gave up in the end it goes in tomorrow for 3 days to strip down and parts ordered then to be fitted not inpressed as vx didnt know what they have put on the car in the first place.. £130 it will cost
