    Default another clutch question (1.8vvti)

    Hello all

I know this subject has been covered to death already so apologies for bringing it up again but my clutch judder has been getting worse and worse over the last couple of weeks to the point that it is sometimes dangerous as we go to pull out and cant get away!! My car has done 33k now on an 07 plate so from what I have seen on here I dont think I stand any chance of the warranty fixing it so if I were to get a new clutch fitted does anyone know what is involved money wise and also whats stopping it happening again, is there actually something that has been replaced on these clutches now?!
    Any help would be gret!
    Thanks

If its when its cold they should fix it under warranty for you. they did mine after showing them some forum pages from here.

Its a warranty fix. When I get home I'll see if I can find the Field remedy number.

if they dont fix it under warranty you will be looking to pay around about £650. I paid over £1200 because i needed a new dual mass fly wheel m8. Good luck

ok thanks for the replys, the judder we experience seems to occur at random points when cold and warm although been getting worse when cold I guess! Maybe I will send the wife in and see what they say to her, I just assumed no point asking due to the miles we have done! Ouch at £650, not cheap then!

Hi got same problem as you on my 06 with 20000k on the clock. Sorry to tell you bad news but if clutch judders when warm stealers will probably tell you as they told me that the fault is not the same as mentioned in lots of forums and is not covered by warranty. They will also want to see your service history. They quoted me £635 for a clutch and £1023 for clutch and dual mass flywheel. If the flywheel is faulty you will just waste your hard earned by just having the clutch replaced. Best of luck.

Cheers for the info, will see what they say anyway. Service history is full and up to date so no problem there!

Well took the car into the local stealers and they took it out for a spin but as always no problems when they drove it!! The guy initially said is it a 2.2? and when my wofe said no a 1.8 he said he assumed 2.2 as they have changed several fuel pumps on the 2.2s as they have been faulty and causing a juddering!! He offered to keep car over night and let one of the guys take it home over night and drive back in the morning to see if it does it again or suggested we could just leave it and see if it gets any worse. The mileage was mentioned but he seemed to think the miles was not an issue warrenty wise!?! We have decided to leave it for now and see what happens although I have a feeling the judder is worse when the car is warm....... if I do anything else I will report back!!!
