    Default Adding Sub and Amp

    EDIT: Using Standard CDR2005 Headunit

    Well,

My old sub's still sitting in the spare room gathering dust from my "boy racer" days and I've decided that she can come out of retirement!

Been looking at the amp and it has a weird 4-pin connector for high-level inputs.

I'm guessing that I need to find some sort of plug to fit this (easier said than done!) and then somehow connect off the speaker leads? Might be easiest just clipping a scotch-lock to the wiring loom for the speakers? (have to find out which cables are which first!).

Then for the ignition wire, just jump off something on the accessories wire (prob do the cig lighter) as doesn't really draw anything.

Running the power should be same as ever, hopefully the power lead will be long enough for a Vec!

So, the only question is if anyone's done it already or if I've said anything totally stupid in the above?

    Adam

    7th Speaker? Which one's that?

I was forgetting that these cars aren't the simple FL, FR, RL and RR! What colours would I be looking for? Any ideas how to wire that to a weird high-input connector or could I get away with connecting it to the RCA's?

The 7th speaker in under the little grill in the front top part of the dash. Got the same headunit as you and an Vibe Amp/sub in the celler. Been thinking about this for a bit but the amp only has rca,s. I need the full boot for work so am thinking about making a box to put flush in the boot cuby hole. Think the vibe will be to hardcore for this though as its 600 w.

Should do mate, but to get the full effect its a headunit change. But if your like me lack of funds come in to it so this would be a good way round.

Yeah, Lack of funds is the main reason atm!

My idea was to do this, I'll need to buy a new wiring kit and it gets me "half way" then I just have to replace the headunit and it's all done!
