    Default noise on clutch

    wonder if any one can help

    when i press my clutch when in nuetral there's a rattle, it only happens when the pedal is about half way,no noise when not pressed or fully pressed,and when driving the clutch is perfect no noise no slipping,perfect, only happens when the engine is idle not in gear and the pedal pressed half way??

    any ideas gladly received

    Im going to presume yours is a CDTI, in which case its the Dual Mass Flywheel.

    Not cheap to have repaired!

    yeah its a 1.9 cdti 150bhp signum

    red other threads about the fly wheel, do you have to have a full clutch? and anyone idea on price

    Cost me a grand all in with parts and labour for clutch/flywheel, and thrust bearing parts were proper vx ones and independant fitted them

    Ive had the rattle for 52k now but it will go anytime.

    Some hold out others dont.

    Aye mine has got the pulse sensation at the biting point.
    Car is under VX warranty until next april so i need to get them to have a look quick sharp

    Get in quick as Vx have got wise and when they insepct it, if they find blue marks (burns) on the flywheel they will not pay out as they will call it 'wear and tear'.

    Mine went 100k with the rattle but when it goes the 6 bolts that hold flywheel on can be hard to get off the longer you leave it

    Yep flywheel. If there is no wear to the clutch plate you may get away with just the flywheel. How do I know this? Cuz we are waiting for our flywheel to arrive at the dealers, great after having the car for only 3 weeks! Common fault I am afraid.
