Default Alternative to harsh Falken 912s..advice needed

Had 4 Falken ZE912s (225/45/17) on since november last year. They are very impressive in all areas except one.....ride quality. It is to say the least VERY harsh!! I originally switched form NCT5s to Vredesteins (same speed index and load bearing as Falkens) years ago and the ride quality was spot on with them. With the falkens on the car seems to crash over bumps and pot holes and you can feel every imperfection in the road. I have been looking at Goodyear Excellence and the favourite at the moment is the Kumho Ecsta sport KU31. Only looking to spend up to about £80 each. Really not keen on wacky tread patterns and looking for good all round performer. Not looking for an out and out performance tyre.
    Any thoughts anyone?

I have Toyo Proxy 4's on mine, no problems with them at all good balance between grip, road noise and ride comfort

Do the Toyos not wear quickly? I do quite a few miles and like them to last

Uniroyal Rainsport2. I paid £74 each from camskill (225/45/17) and £10 each to have them fitted at a local tyre centre.

The Excellence is probably a good choice for comfort, they really help the ride quality of the work Octavias compared to the factory fir Dunlops or Bridgestones.

    sidenote:
if you want best comfort, avoid the "extra load" tyres unless you need them! the sidewalls are stiffer with those and the ride can be carp sometimes.

^^ ah right, just noticed you've stuck to the same load rating.
hmm, i wouldn't recommend the excellence to anyone, got them on my car now and i can't wait to get shot of them. grip is appalling.
