    Default Anyone know what this means, or dare to try it.

    Just looking on the TIS and found this field remedy, does anyone know what the solution actually does (highlighted in bold), i'm curious now and want to go out and try it, but don't want to knackering anything up!



    Field Remedy: 1470
    Subject: Central locking - Malfunction
    Models: Engines: Option:
    Vectra-C 2002... All Central locking
    Complaint: Functions of the central locking system incorrect
    Cause: Transport modus is switched on
    Production:

    Remedy:
    At pre-delivery inspection and in cases of complaints with central locking
    system, it is necessary to deactivate the transport mode (hold both steering
    stalk switches in upper position for at least 3s when ignition lock is
    switched-on in position "I").

    To me, it's pretty much what it says. When the cars are being transported the Central Locking is put into 'Transportation Mode' (possibly the CL system switched off).

    Before the car is sold, at PDI, it has to be turned off by the method described.
    Whether it will turn the 'Transport Mode' back on again if you did that procedure now, I don't know, but you can try and let us know what happens!!

    i daren't try it, do you think worst case it may disable the central locking system. Perhaps when the cars come from the factory you have to open the door with the key, and only the drivers door unlocks. who knows.

    When I worked at a Peugeot main dealer , ALL the cars that came in to the dealership straight off the transporter had their Central locking locked if that makes sense . It was the PDI technician that enabled it in the workshop . Maybe Vaux. are the same ?

    Just doing an oil/filter change on Mrs Duncan's Corsa. I'll have a play with the hire car a bit later!!

    Is this not something that is used to transport the cars when leaving the factory on car transporters but then the option is removed or should be by tech2 on PDI.
