i got one of there chips and love it m massive difference from standard both power wise and econamy for me
50 bhp - Sounds a tad optimistic.
oh yea dint mean i got same figures just meant i noticed a massive diff in both power and fuel consumption, altho i reckon there figure wont be that far off , my mate had a cdti 150 astra and he had it on rolling road at 192 bhp so that was a 42 bhp increase, i bought the chip off him when he sold it
i love it and its on the base setting but happy with the power out put which i reckon is around 180ish and loving the 50 mpg i get around town
I'm sure the power will be excellent. These are quite a reputable diesel tuning firm.
However, from a reliability point of view I'd worry. Can they honestly claim to have extensively tested this tuning package so soon after the Insignia release.. I don't know.
Personally I'd wait a bit longer to see what BSR come up with for this engine. That's one tuner who certainly do a lot of testing.
Very interesting reads about this product, the only issue I can see is that it is quite obvious from a servicing point of view, I had a focus a few years ago got that re-mapped via the OBD data port so it was virtually undetectable to the naked eye, these having a box installed under the bonnet is just a little concerning to me. I wonder if someone may develop a remap rather than a add on.........
Was the original question to this thread targeted at what people thought it was like on a 2.0 CDTi i.e. an Insignia? If yes, are the experiences expressed above based on trials in an Insignia? Maybe that would make it clearer for anyone reading in conjuction with an Insignia to form a better view if it is worth considering for them.
