loss of power

hi guys towed my caravan for the first time with my signum i bought a couple of months ago with no probs i bought a caterman tuning box off one of the guys on here everything sound until i was towing on friday and the dredded car with the spanner come on and i lost power car still kept going just no power so i thought maybe its the tunning box so ive took it off and i still have the same problem and help would be appreciated thanx

It could be a case of car says no! With towing the caravan and having a caterman powering it to within an inch of its life something may not be happy under the bonnet with the strain.

Is it still in limp home mode with the car and spanner on? Keep the caterman disconnected and then disconnect the battery for 10 mins then reconnect the battery ONLY, fire it up and see if it has remedied itself and let us know how you get on. HTH

i took the tuning box off before i set off home which was about an hours drive and it went into limp mode so i turned the ignition off then on it was ok for a bit then done it again ive just disconected the battery now ill see if thats any good thanx for the help mate

Having similar problem witm mine to only tc light comes on then engine cuts out. Disconnect battery for 10 min then starts and runs fine for about 10 miles then does it again. any ideas anyone?

Philly i had that last week with mine. 2.0Dti los sof power and spanner light.
I cleaned my EGR valve and everything seems fine now.

Towing my shed at the weekend so hopefully it will be ok then as well

Update on mine found out engine cuts out at 90 degree the can restart when cools down anyone got any ideas

lol ive left this a week before i post on here i unplugged the battery for 10 mins and havent had a problem since must of just been the car didnt like pullin me shed with the caterman plugged in ive left my caravan sited till this weekend so ill be towing it back on sunday so ill let you guys know if i have any probs again thanx for the help guys much appreciated

I've had no loss of power since (towed quite well) light flickered a couple of times, think thats teh fan prob still.

1 thing i did notice, on the cruise control i tried to set it at 60 and it auto set itself to 50. must know it's towing a heavy shed i suppose. but was ok overall. i even managed to overtake a few lorries and other happy campers
