    Default Air con not working

(Sorry for posting here system won't let me post this under aircon as locked)

Put my air con on for the first time for a while, no change in temperature at all, pipes in engine bay were not cold at all I suppect the coolent has leaked out?

As recommended I took it along to kwickfit for a recharge.

They connected it to a machine which vaced the system for 30 mins to remove whats left of old stuff, did a leak test and re-filled the system.

Seems to have fixed the problem as blowing cold air once more

However does anyone know what colour this aircon coolet is? Because I have noticed a yellowish liquid in a patch on the aircon radiator????

Now this is either leaking out, if its yellow?, or the garage has spilt some brake fluid on there which I hadn't noticed??

Air seems ok at the moment but the front of the aircon rad does look in a doggy state from road grit and dead flies etc.

Later after a week of use the aircon is hardly working again I recon there is a leak in the rad, theres a big damp stain in middle of rad and only the top left corner was getting warm ???

So guys, whats the damage for a replacement air con rad? Looks as if a stone has punchered it and it will have to go into Vauxhall after all

You should use the a/c at least 20mins per month to keep the system from drying out and the coolant leaking out (its in the manual). They yellow liquid could be the dye from what they have added to the gas.
It could mean a new rad if its got a hole

Budget around the £110 for a generic replacement condenser, add postage + VAT.
Not a difficult job to do assuming you have things such as tork sockets and a Haynes book - I recently did an Omega one on my drive in 3 hrs. Do the job yourself then off back to Kwikfit for test and refill. Can't quote for the average Vx Main Stealer, but I'm guessing you can do it yourself one hell of a lot cheaper.
