Default the government are going to do something good to football

just looking at the news, the government are going to make the big clubs share some of their profits, hopefully make the sport fairer for the smaller clubs, also they are going to cap the amount of foreign players, about time as there are way too many imports and not enough to find the local talent, perhaps with more good local players we might have a chance to do well at the world cup (more choice of players),it is something that i feel should be done and asap as te big clubs are getting too big at the expence of small clubs,it would be nice to see another club at the top that is not man u,arsenal, liverpool or chelsea http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/article.as...entid=16633817

I think this government has enough to worry about with out sticking there nose into footie.
The only reason they are taking an interest is cause they are so in need of cash and trying to tax the clubs to fill this huge black hole they have in there spending.

I agree with the fact that there are too many foreign players in the english league. I think you should have at least 5 British players in your team. The problem with introducing that is that I can think of very few teams that could actually manage it!

Given that the top 5 clubs are carrying billions of pounds in debt, I can't see it happening.

Grass roots football will never die, as it's people who love the game who play.

There are far too many pro and semi-pro teams diluting the skill and money.

We don't teach football in school we teach "participation". Apparently it's not the winning that counts. When I went to school thats what the kids who were rubbish at sport were told too. Yet we have special classes for children who excell at other lessons and the brightest are positively encouraged to improve.

Would be nice if we put more emphasis on sport in the curriculum for those who want it, then we wouldn't be buying in foreign talent.

English players are not as good as their foreign counterparts, but thats not the fault of the big clubs. Thats the same as saying English doctors are not as good as foreign doctors and its the fault of the big hospitals!
