Default Isolating the Car Alarm for PD - Estate

Ok - I have the intermittant car alarm going off problem 53 plate 2.0DTI estate. Been for the Tech2 and they cant see an error. They tried to load the latest software into the alarm ECU and it said the hardware was too advanced for the software and rejected it. Very very strange...
Anyway they are trying to say it is an alarm ECU problem and the next stage is £418 for a new one! B*loks to that. So I am going to shut down all the sensors to see if I can isolate the problem and maybe point for certain at the ecu. Ok but what inputs into the sensors ... Can anybody add to the list.

Bonnet switch - short out connections
Back Quarter windows - short out alarm connections
    Rear estate door - ? glass ?
Rear Estate door - Courtesy light (pull lead of the switch)
Other doors - Courtesy light (pull lead of the switch) but cant find the switch as yet???
Always press dashboard switch to isolate ultasonic - or tape over the sensors.
Can't find the power sounder - suposed to be rear boot by the fuses LHS

Any fuses that would help by removal?

    {the only way to lock the car without the alarm is wind the window down - press the button on the door - then press wind up the windows and extract your head and arms smartish!}

    2) does anyone know whether you can get a second hand brain ecu for these things from a breakers (web site breakers search) and then fit it and synch in the keys?
    3) I have Gendan Vauxcheck software and plug which only covers the engine - anyone know of "?available?" software I can search for to look at the alarm?

Thanks for any help - Dave

They also sense any voltage changes, so is everything else powering down properly after locking and securing?

Who said that? (the bit in the bold) ? If it was VX then go somewhere else, another dealer. If it was some back street place then their equipment probably isn't up to reading the data. Mind you, if there is a fault with the alarm then it will put up a fault light on the dash. hth

Also I'd imagine that shorting out the sensors would put a fault light on although not 100% on that
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I think you will find that the problem is with the rear quarter window sensors .theres probably a break in the circuit arround the window .disconnect the wiring from the windows and link wires together,do this on both sides and i think your alarm problems will be over.

it could also be a Software problem of the following components: Ultrasonic sensor, tilt sensor, ultrasonic module and power sounder.

as this was a known issue on early vectra c's

the ultrasonic sonsor in the BCM has to be
reprogramed with Tech-2 ( the powersounder
    has to be reprogramed also).

I had a chat with the mechanic when I collected the car - they are pointing the finger at the CIM (Column Integrated Module) which is behind the air bag and steering wheel and has the indicator/light stalks and ignition key attached. I am also having a wierd problem with unlocking the car which also points to this together with no alarm codes being logged. Early vectra c could have the software updated while newer ones (such as mine) have fixed code. They have to be removed using a tech 2 otherwise they are junk. Found one second hand (*TECH 2 Removed) so that is £60 and £76 to have it fitted by the dealer. We will try that before isolating the alarm mainly because I dont have time with a two year old son to spend the hours pulling panels off to get at contacts. Thanks for your help so far. Dave
