    Default Fuel Tank?

I ran my car until the petrol light was flashing. at this stage my range was 1 mile.

I filled the car up with petrol and it only took 54 litres of fuel off me.

I thought the cars had a 60 litre tank?

You can drive for ages on zero as you have found out, as you still had a few litres left.

Anyway, the point is that even when the gauge shows zero, there is still plenty of reserve fuel left. This is normal

If you put in more fuel than the capacity of the tank, then you were low.

diesels are predomonantly bad for this - on diesels it can also bring on the engine warning light as low fuel makes the car think its got an air leak entry fault on the system

there was a software update on pre face lifts for signums giving false readings as the tanks were set up as vectras and not signums as well

    hth
