Think the worst m8 is you would need glasses but are farked as you obviously prefer the lenes

On a serious note - personally - I would not get the laser thing I would rather have perspecs hanging off of my face than having some gun burning my eyeball. Just not too sure about this laser treatment.

    hi mate,

my father in law used to look like mr magoo with bottle bottom glasses - took em off and couldnt see a thing - laser eye surgery = no glasses and no contacts and nearly perfect vision
the only downside is he can now see me flipping him the v's on a more regular basis

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

my wife is a laser eye assistant to a doctor at Optimax, got to have a consultation to find out your prescription and your stigmatism to see if you are suitable, shame you dont live closer, could have possibly got it done for £600 for you if you were suitable, hey, but if anyone else local to the south and cant see much let me know, could possibly save someone a small fortune...

I had surgery at Ultralase in Newcastle in 2001-2002ish in my early twenties - I wore specs and contact lenses from early teens onwards.

I had several consultations before having the op. and then had it done on a Saturday afternoon. The operation itself is fairly quick; the only negative aspect was that my eyes were quite painful after the anaesthetic wore off during Saturday evening, so I went to bed and slept it off.

By Sunday morning I was pain-free and went back later that day for the first after-care appointment; I was told my eyes had healed well enough for me to drive without spectacles (something I couldn't do prior to the procedure) and they eventually corrected to a level better than "20-20".

(The way it was explained to me was that a normal person's 20-20 or 6-6 vision is measured is being able to read to the second-from-bottom line on a particular eye test chart ; I was able to read the line below, on the bottom of the chart - so as you can guess, I was very pleased with the result.)

I still have a yearly check up at my opticians just to make sure everything is tip-top - touch wood, I haven't had a change in my prescription since then.

The only surprise I had was the smell during the operation - when they actually laser your eye surface, it smells like clothes scorching in front of a fire!
