Default Old Key to flip key

I have just purchased a 2nd key for my Vectra for the princely sum of £100 programmed. Its the nice new flip type.

My wife will inherit my old style three button key but what I wish to know is can you buy the rubber bit for the 3 button key as I inadvertantly bought the old 2 button insert. I have looked on flea bay but they only sell the 2 button variety which is annoying.

If this is not possible is it possible to transplant the circuit board and key from the old style 3 button to the new style flip key.

you would also need to swap the immob chip over which can easily get damaged, not sure id risk it after forking out £100.

EDIT just realised you are referring to the old style key. that you want to fix up?
im sure there was one in the for sale section a week or so ago.

If you order a key it will be a new flip one you get, the old style ones are no longer supplied.

No I didn't swap it, I bought the new 3 button flip type as we only had one key for the Vectra we bought which is a major pain in the bum.

The buttons are all worn on our old one and I want to buy an unprogrammed flip key and transplant the parts from the old key to the flip if its possible as this would save me in the region of £60.

You can buy the flip key to replace the older style keys for £100 programmed which is what I have done.

I was going to go the ebay route but for the saving of about £10 on going to the dealer I decided it wasnt worth it. £45 for the key on flea bay and vauxhall said £40 to £45 for programming and cutting.

you cant reprograme a key if it has been programmed to another car, not even buy vx so DONT BUY SECOND HAND KEYS UNLESS its for the body parts and you dont want to reprogramme it, ie you can use the rubber key pad or the surround ect
