    Default Swirl Flaps Pt 2

Following on from this thread http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80675

    I have the following results
Code reader found the following fault codes
    P1109 - Swirl flap positioner 1 faulty
P1110 - Swirl flap positioner 1 output stage faulty

The garage has suggested a full inlet manifold replacement with actuator for £624.50 all in.

Does this sound ok. I do trust the garage and the guys seem to know there stuff.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm facing the same problem, sounds about right from what I been reading, mine is driving ok tho, but I guess it well probably with time kill the egr valve, but I think I would give this job a go myself as your bill is probably more than half labour costs

£624 is not to bad considering there is about £360 worth of parts. Labour on that basis is not too bad either.

At least you'll get it all sorted. You could always get them activate the flaps with Tech 2 a few times, this can help to clear it a little and get a few more miles out of it before you have to change it.

Car is booked in tomorrow to get the inlet manifold & actuator replaced

Once this has been done is there anything I can do to try prevent this happening again i.e. the build up of 'crud' etc in the future or is it just inevitable?
Would putting redex or the like in the fuel every so often help to reduce the problem?
    Thanks

Dont know for sure if it makes any difference but I always use millers or redex at each fill up. Defo less smoke out the back.
