Replacement rear and front discs and pads

Hi Guys,

has anyone used this supplier on ebay for this discs and pads. just want to make sure the are genuine and also if these are the right size.... for 1.9cdti sri 2007 model... im 99.9% sure it is, just wana make sure...

going to get vx to fit them on.. thanks

also how long should it generally talk vx to change the both front and back and how much should they really charge.

Pretty sure they are the right size matey!!

It should take no longer than 3 hrs for VX to change the dics and pads, around 45mins a wheel. It took me 3.5 hrs to do all four at my mates garage and it was the first time I had ever replaced discs!!

It's really not that hard a job.

The fronts are deffo the right ones. The rears however are the wrong ones I think. I'm sure they should be none vented? Think only the turbo petrol and the V6's came with rear vented. HTH

VX - Dudley quoted me £84 to change front disc's and pads, plus the disc and pads (cost on forum somewhere, as a kit £60-70)

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, i just called vx, and they are quoting 180 just for labour !!!!!!!!! wthhh

IIRC, those on E-Bay aren't much cheaper (when you add in postage costs) than buying genuine VX pads & disc kit from your VX dealer. If you're getting VX to fit the Mintex ones and there's a subsequent parts issue, they may not play ball.

VX times are 1 hour to do the front and rear pads, 0.4 hours to remove & replace rear discs and 0.3 hours to remove & replace front discs.

Total labour therefore about 1.7 ish hours (=1 hour and 42 minutes).

Average labour rates I guess are about £80 per hour + Vat, so you'll be looking at about £156 to get VX to fit them.

thats with the brake sensor cost.... "just in case"

as mine doesnt have one it would have been cheaper.... i guess not much.
