    Default vectra and M5....similar??

hey people i was on the way home this afternoon (a lowly 1.8 but hear me out) and the sun was out, was driving the vec with a full tank and i thought sod it im taking the scenic/long route home!!
Turned off the roundabout into a b-road surrounded by fields with some great bends and i had a fantastic drive.

I put the car in second out of a bend and bury the throttle the vec quite surprised me as to how well it shifts with onli a lil engine, had a great drive with just me, the car and the countryside but after the road ended i turned back onto my original route, put the car in 5th and whispered home, with air-con, electric windows, comfy seats.

This made me think of the vec as a baby m5 because when your hammering it on the right road the vec is a glorious drive but when you have finished clowning around just put the car in 5th and it becomes and effortless cruiser and will whisper you home in perfect comfort, it shouldnt matter whether its a 1.8, 2.0t or v6. whether its red, green or blue. whether its a siggy, hatch, saloon or estate. its simply about you. your car, your road and your enjoyment. life is only what you make it ladies and gents so make your vec a part of it!!!

I could not have put that better myself. You sound real proud of your motor, and a sensible driver too.

Fair enough, but still nowhere near as quick as the likes of the M5

    (I'd rather have a 535d anyway )

Well said there. The Vectra is a fine car. One's own subjective opinion is what really matters. I have no complaints at all.
