    Default Water Pump Problem?

    Hi all,

Just had AA look at my motor. Came back from brighton yesterday and as i reached home i heard lots of noise coming from the engine. Sqeeking and Clicking coming from the right hand side of engine (if infront of car, by the belts) also a lot of water above my o/s front wheel axl.

AA patrol advised water pump is knackered and needs replacing. How much should i be looking to pay for this doing? Its (over)due for a service so would be looking to get this done at the same time.

    Thanks!!

Sounds like the bearings and seal has gone in the water pump. I don,t know the milage of your motor. But it might be a very good idea to get the cambelt and all the pullies and the tensioner changed at the same time.

Yes, get the cambelt done if, as has been said on here, it is a good idea to get the water pump done at the same time.

dont mess around, get the cambelt and tension and idler pullys changed when doing a cambelt, as once the cambelt comes off, they say you shouldnt refit it

I would recomend a cambelt change at 40k. In my opinion you are overdue a cambelt change now.Best to be on the safe side. It can work out cheaper.
