    Exclamation URGENT Help Required

I'm getting a new set of wheels today, but just noticed that my car (Had it 3 months now) never came with a locking wheel nut adapter. This was a used car and the indepndant dealer is 200 miles away! I also have nothing telling me what serial number of locking nut key I require.

How can I remove the wheels best i.e. drill the nuts out?

    Cheers,

    Phil

Take it to VX and see if they have a master key.

Cheers, I'm off down there now. Failing that I'll need to try and drill them out I think?

They will get them off but i'll cost, unless you are a handy andy, I wouldn't try it yourself. Get it wrong and you screw a wheel you'll be gutted. I know you are getting new wheels but even so. Sure they hold masters but they'll charge you for the privilage!

    Good luck

As Robbie says, all dealers have a plastic blow moulded case with all the possible wheel nut sockets in there. They just try them all one by one until they find the one that fits, they're all numbered too of course so you will be able to order one after they find which number it is.

Cheers for all the help guys.

I'm just back from the dealer and what can i say?

I got it sorted no prblem at all, thankfully. I had a major panic-on there for a while!!!

The Service receptionist got out a case of master wheel nut keys (Some were missing though, not a full set) and he found one to fit. The receptionist himself walked to the workshop and came back with a power drill and removed the nuts for me and guess what???

He said, "There you go, no problems at all. There'll be no charge for that".

To say I was flabbergasted is an understatement! A friendly dealer going out of his way to help. Getting his hands dirty and not charging a bean for it....I've never heard of the likes.

He wouldn't take any cash when I offered, or anything toward their Xmas slush fund so I went round the corner to the petrol station and came back with a nice box of chocs for them..Absolute lifesavers .

So I'd like to congratulate my dealer and give them a very heavy recommendation if anyone in my area needs help, they're actually well worth a visit.

    Cheers Tadpole.

I'm all for naming and shaming when people get things wrong, but eaqually, when people perform really well they should get praise heaped on them!!!

P.S. Man after your own heart, did you mean that you want some chocs too ???
