Default Car alarm keeps going off

    Hey all,

My car alarm KEEPS going off, every morning, somewhere between 7 and 8 am. Have NO idea why, is there anyway of telling what sensor is causing this, and any ideas why it's pretty much every 24hrs??

Are any taxis picking people up at the time ..... our taxi radios always set off car alarms when we are sitting next to a car and our radio is transmitting .....

Come to the A/G meet at Don Paul's and I'll hook up tech2 to it and it will tell which sensor is setting if off.

In the meantime, try hitting the man running away icon on the dash left hand side of the radio next time you exit the car, this will disable the ultrasonic sensors inside and will remove one possible cause of problems.

if the car is about a 08reg there was a few that where made with a dodgy BCM and this causes the alarm to go off when there is nothing wrong

Thanks all - the car is an '02 LS, I hit the "man running away" button last night, strangely the trip odometer stayed illuminated, and again this morning it went off!

I not on a main road so nothing's driving past, and I'm 100% no one's winding me up lol. Also - i could go out right now and shake or kick the car and it won't go off!!

IS there a dedicated fuse I can pull out for now, I'm really not fussed about having an alarm for now.

Your insurance company might be fussed though. Disconnecting it would mean your car no longer has a Thatcham cat1 approved security system fitted.
