Nope - they seem to leave horrid smears on the paintwork. They are good for cleaning the interior surfaces tho!
i'm not a detailing guru but i do use a shammy and can tell the difference easily. removes all water related marks if done thoroughly.
no no to shammies , micro fibres or waffles for me ...shammies are known to catch tiny grit particles and damage the paintwork (so i,m lead to believe ) )
i use a FLUNKIE made by vilida i get them from AUTOSMART they dont take loads of looking after and give a brilliant finish
Only use a chamois on the door shuts,never on the bodywork........
Like tadpole i used to use a shammy but prefer microfibre thingys now.
I use a blade style wiper as opposed to the traditional chamois leather that can pic up grit and mark the paint. It works quite well, though the leather is still good for any parts you cannot get in to with the blade.
