they are being rather greedy with a price that high , the main one to be aware of on the vectra C is the one which goes across the top of the fuel tank from the offside to the nearside rear .
there is a small part of this pipe ( about 3 inches ) that cannot be seen once fitted & this is where it rots badly , recently replaced a burst one on a 56 plate car & the rest of the pipes on the car were like new .
I would replace this pipe as a matter of course rather than wait for it to burst .

Thanks for your advise about the 3" pipe, something that wood get missed if you didnt know it was there.

Will shop around an independent garage and see what price they come up with.

    Thanks.

I was a bit suprised and I thought they'd addressed this with the Cavalier Mk 3 when they used the green coated pipes.
I was thinking maybe I would coat them with waxoil.
i wouldnt coat them in anything, what if they do corrode badly and you cant see it until the inevitable happens

dealers would probably replace them with bundy tubing whereas indie garages would probably use copper piping

Once again it only serves to demonstrate that the vast majority of VX dealers are money grabbing hogs. Sadly it is Vauxhall who set the costs by their set scales of job pricing which is mandatory for the dealers to follow. Try and get one of their mechies to do the job on his own time cos some dealers allow their own staff to use the ramps when they are free. There again its easy enough and cheap enough to buy the kit yourself and graft in a new section or re-route the whole pipe. As long as you do not disturb the ABS valve unit. I tend to cut and graft where the pipe appears at the bottom of the engine bulkhead and turns towards the rear of the car. If you re-route the pipe around the fuel tank remember to use body clips to secure it to the body. Loose pipes will fail too.
