Default rear tires destroyed on inside edge

hi folks, have had our vec c just over a year now and done 10k. we have just destroyed another set of rear tires. had a close look around at bushes etc. the upper control arms have been replced, the stickers were still on them dated january 08, we bought car in feb 08!!

the outside of the tire has at least 5mm on it but the inside is almost to the canvass. i know it has some camber but this is rediculus.

im thinking shockers. car has done 68k and is a 2.0dti ls 53 plate.

    any opinions welcomed

we ar due to start towing a caravn in the next few weeks so got to get it sorted!!

I'm just about to replace my rear shocks due to uneven tyre wear m8,so it'll be a good place to start and don't forget to get a full 4 wheel alignment check done when the tyre's are replaced, good luck........

First thing I did was a 4 wheel alignment when I got my Vec estate. Rears are wearing perfectly, with 40k mileage and 4-5 mil tread remaining.

My car went to the stealers on Thursday over flat spots on the inside edge of the rear tyres but they were totaly useless so its going to Ian at MPG for a set of rear shocks and a full laser alignment and that should sort the problem out.

IMO there is a design flaw with the suspension. I have an 04 Vectra Sri. Every set of tyres I've had wear on the inside on the rears. I had the alignment checked (4 wheel) and everything was within the tolerances. There are numerous cases on here

If you look at my car from the rear, the rear wheels toe 'in' towards the arch and it is pretty noticeable. Also, if I drive the car a long distance, if you feel the tyre surface on the rear, the inner 2 inches or so is noticeably warmer than the outer edge of the tyre.

Car has never been bumped, crashed etc,etc Vauxhall aren't interested. No wonder people buy part-worns

I have no idea what the original and 'correct' tolerances are, but if you get the geometry checked at an independent place (ie NOT vauxhall) you shouldn't have any more problems.

I did about 30k on my old vec estate after lowering & alignment checking, and about 10k so far on these tyres after lowering and a proper alignment. No problems at all.

My OH used to drive a Mini Cooper. The camber (caster?) on her front wheels was awful - you could see from miles away the wheels leaned in at the top. That was just how the factory set them up...

It's not a design flaw, it's a setup problem. The camber helps handling, but wears tyres.
