    Default Porter Cable

I've been trying to convince the missus since the detailing day that i needed a Porter Cable, she isn't as convinced however, and kept saying if i really wanted one, she'd get me one for my birthday. Finally managed to convince her yesterday that i couldn't wait till my birthday, and that i needed one now. I had to soften her up by taking her to meadowhall to buy baby clothes, a moses basket, and some new trainers for her, but it worked, she finally cracked, and said i could order one, so ordered that last night, screwfix bits this morning, and some ssr 1, 2 and 2.5 from clean and shiney, aswell as some more pads, and a pot of souveren paste wax. So just waiting for everything to turn up now, then as soon as i've got some spare time, i can make the car swirl free.

Did you ask your wife to order you some of that Zymol Wax that costs about £7000, might be worth a try as it is for your birthday.

nice one pendo. Im going to try my Smartool before PVS but im still nervous about it. The best advice ive picked up so far on Detailing world is to start with the least aggressive combination first, and work that way till you get to something that works. You may then have to follow up with a non agressive product if you get marring or those 'PC trails/hologram' things.

go for it mate, show him the PC and how it works, then tell him that he needs this special wax.

Remember use least aggresive product first, you cant put paint back on as quick as you will remove it with the wrong product.

I personally use poorboys ssr2.5, followed by ssr1 then megs sealants and finish with p21s layered a couple of times.

Jeez, i thought this thing was supposed to make it easier. I think the problem is i've added about 4 new stages to my routine, so its taking ages. Do you guys PC the whole car, ie. doors, bumpers bootlid etc? I've done the bonnet, roof, and one side. Having a breather now for 5. Any tips muchly appreciated.
