Default Replacing Multi-V Belt - Any Tips?

    Morning all,

I'm replacing my v.squeeky Multi-V Belt tomorrow and just wondered if anyone had any tips on how i can make it as easy as poss. Is it worth taking the airbox off? Any special tools needed, etc?

    Cheers.

Funnily enough mate I'm doing mine this weekend also for the same reason and looking at it I reckon you could do it without removing the airbox and attacking it from under the car, however I think I'm gonna remove airbox as I reckon that'll make it easier, looks a straight forward job (he says!!) i.e remove air box for easier access , remove side cover, de-tension the tensioner and slip belt off and new one on, at least i hope it's gonna be that easy!!

Cheers Pete, having a (quick) look at it last night i think thats how i'm going to do it, just wanted to be aware of any nasty little suprises before i make a start. Got the rear pads to do as well so dont want to waste any time really.

    Good luck with yours mate!!

Check the length of the old and new belt which is printed on the outside. It's not uncommon for the wrong belt to be supplied.

And you with yours mate and out of interest what size is your new belt mine has 1028 written on it, but had a look on TIS and spec says 1030, however on EPC it calls up the 1028 for aircon which mine has, just strange theres's that 2mm difference .

How did you get on Terry? I tried to fit the belt this morning but gave up as I can't get any of my tools down to the tensioner (square hole) as there is just not enough space between tensioner and body, is there a special tool available to do this?
