It's my understanding that they have to give it to you. They tried the same thing when we went to Sky and were flamin' rude too. Not only that, they also denied Sky could provide Broadband to our house (which they could cos our neighbour has it!).

In the end, a few threats of OFCom complaints got them to pull their fingers out.

there shouldn't be any problem as sky should be getting your mac code from bt not you.

my bro did this and sky said we deal with it he didn't have to call or have any contact with bt.

Problem with BT is you end up talking to some call centre in Bangladesh or whatever, the staff have poor English and the bare minimum of training, they're afraid of losing their jobs, so you'll have a hard time getting anywhere with them unless you lucky enough to speak to someone who knows what they're doing.....

Funny but thats been my exact same experience with Sky Broadband, thats why I changed, To BT, and we've never had a better Broadband connection.. But I guess it may depend on the network in different area's.. although Sky's advisors / call centre staff leave a lot to be desired..

I hope its ok for you though Scotty..
