On the wheels a sealant is best so use SRP to prep the wheels then the EGP to protect them. There are better wheel sealants about but as you don't want to spend then you gotta use what you have.

As for the megs 3 step, paint cleaner is good the polish (glaze) is good but the wax is pants, find another wax or you will find that the wax protection will have gone within a few weeks and will need to go at it again.

For your paint useing what you have I would consider step 1, SRP then EGP. it will give you extra durability over just the megs 3 step. You could even miss out the megs all together.

You can use SRP and EGP on the wheels no problem.
If it was me I would just use that on the paintwork too, as Little John says the Megs S3 is pants.

Thanks for the replys guys. So all 3 steps of megs is a waste of time. Just clay polish seal. And same for wheels apart from clay. Makes it an easier day!

Sorry mate, I miss read your original post slightly.

Megs steps 1 and 2 are supposed to be very good, (can't really comment as I have never tried them) they are basically their version of SRP, so no need to do all of it.

The Megs step 3 I have used and don't rate it, easy to put on and take off but only really lasts a few days, week at the most. Whereas SRP and EGP can last months.

You can clay the wheels if you like but make sure you do them last. I've tried it before but didn't really see any benefit to it.

    Sounds good mate.
I've heard on Detailing World that EGP bonds better with SRP than UDS, so might wanna try that. Looking forward to the results.

Quite a difference in the time between applications between the AG stuff and meguiars stuff.

I bought the megs 3 stage stuff as my first lot of detailing kit. Stage 1 was terrific, 2 was okay, and 3 really didnt last long, so whilst buying the kids bikes from Halfords (1/3 off on offer, plus 5% discount codes AFF4APR and 6% quidco) with what I saved I bought an AG drying towel, megs scratch x as some idiot didnt see a very small sign in a car park, and EGP to use instead of stage 3. All still on the 3 for 2! Arrived next working day too

Reading the AG labels SRP and EGP require a time gap between applying and buffing off - some of us aren't allowed several hours every week to detail the car hth.

I think suck it and see is the best course of action, that or copy the best lopking cars owners methods on here
