    Default Car going in

I'v decided to keep the vecci for another 12 mts and am going to spend a few quid on her so i have booked her in to this place http://www.goodasnewltd.co.uk/index.html

It is booked in at end of next week for a 2 stage machine polishing process using a 3m product specifically designed for black cars. (something like 'reflex' or 'reflective' polish). They quickly showed me the procedure on a small section of my car and it came up mint.

They are also going to sort out one of my alloys which is a bit scuffed too.

I will try and find out the proper name and post a pic once it has been done.

    Can't wait!!

They are a reputable company so it should be ok?

Got my chrome 'V' grille in for a black respray at the moment and a Dension ICE LINK for my ipod waiting to be fitted. Rear tints booked in to be done in 3 weeks time too.

This web site should come with a health/wallet warning.

I really want the twin exhaust conversion too but keep slapping myself round the head when i see the pound signs

Price depends on condition of vehicle but expect to pay about the 100 quid mark.

It is a pro job with a quality 2 stage product and mine is being done next friday.

I'v not used these people before so i'm not on commission but having been to their place and met them you get the feeling that everything is above board and sorted.

They do loads of work for local authorities and i think they now work 24hrs in order to keep up with demand.

Just a tip, it is unusual for a body shop that seems to be working under a lot of pressure with the local council work and comercial veichle work to get paint work swirl and hologram free.

Check the area they polished as an example under a decent light source or the sun if it comes out before friday to check for swirls and holigrams, if no light source take some photos at a 90 degree angle to the surface with the flash and see what the finish is like. then use an alcohol wipe and wipe the area it will remove any fillers from the paint that places often use to hide the swirls and holograms. Then check it again under the light source and see if it is still swirl free.

If it was polished correctly and no product with fillers in used then the surface should be perfect still after the wipe with alcohol. ohh year make sure the area is clean before you start.

Picked the car up on Friday afternoon and went away for the weekend so only just got back.

Didn't get chance to take any pics before i took it in but even after i had washed it, it still looked a but dull.

Here are the 'after' pics tho.

Yeah, they have done a good job refurbing and colour matching the alloy and the paintwork 'shines' like it has never done before.

I don't have the time (or possibly the enthusiasm) that some of the pro detailers on here have so for me it is mint.
