Default How much are an air and fuel filter at the dealers?

and how easy is it to replace the fuel filter?

Just had a service done a couple of weeks ago and all they did was basically check over the car and replace the oil and oil filter.
But i want to replace the air and fuel filter aswell.

Is it worth getting them from the dealer or getting them via the local motor discount shop or ebay?

    cheers

    1.8 Sri, by the way

Don't know how easy it is to do filters on petrols, but as a guideline, the stealer charged around £11 for a filter element for my V6 CDTi and the local motor factor place charged the same for two!

Both were the exact same Fram filters, in the same packaging, not some Nobby No Brand vs. 'genuine' parts.

Ebay is not always the cheapest - for the Missus's Daihatsu Copen, Ebay oil filters were £10 plus p&p, local motor factor was £3.50

Rather basic service that, was that was what was agreed?
Normally at least the air filter and/or pollen filter is replaced
The pollen filter is more essential, replaced at every service
The air filter will easily last to every second service, but where it was not replaced, simply remove it bang it clean then reinsert

There is very little saving between all three, stick with OE parts if possible
Each of the filters is about £10
The pollen filter (if not replaced on service) is available as a basic paper or a slightly more expensive charcoal version, go for the charcoal one

Air filter replaced at 40k along with fuel filter, but depends on age of car and unknown history, so if 6 years and 60k look check if dirty if not sure replace this what a garage does.

Or do the sensible thing, and change all the filters every time. For the little extra cost (I serviced my CDTi150 with all genuine VX filters and oil for 63 squid) it'll keep your engine ticking over nicely and last longer than those people who stick to the (frankly ridiculous) 20K/30K service intervals...

Between 5K and 10K for me...
