    Eek Insurance is Due

okay so the insurance is due. so after a pretty poor year with more than i WILL be changing this year unless they offer me a stupidly low quote! they said my exsess was 100 quid then once id bought the policy they upped it to 650 quid! then they took double ammount of money i was quoted out of my bank account and blamed it on computer error, it took me 3 months to get the money back off them!

i only 19 and i had a bump this year so that took my no claims (5mph slip off the clutch but what can you do lol). i paid £1200 Last year. but this year im also out of my probationary 2 years of driving (means i can get the whole 12 points on my licence lol) so that reduces it abit. ive got a quote from Admiral for £980 for 10 months on there bonus accelerator thing. but i was just wondering if anyone had any horror stories from them? or if anyone can recomend a good insurance company thats good for younger drivers?

    ta for any advice,

    Will

After much shopping around I'v Just moved to Adrian Flux from M&S (who refused to insure me on 19" alloys) an saved £180 off my last policy and thats with all mods declared, full legal pack etc and future mods will add no premium so im well happy. U might aswell try all the comparison websites too m8, confused.com, comparethe market.com, tesco etc it cant do any harm

Be careful with the 10 month bonus accelerator policies. Some insurers wont give the full NCB when you come to change.

thats what i thought. thus why i was asking about admiral for any horror stories as id do a couple of 10 monthers to get some NCB then do 12months then i can allways change when i have full no claims.

Im 23, the thing with the large excess if normal. Everyone under 25 pays a silly amount compulsary just now mine is £500 with more than and thats me with full no claims and im a highly qualified driver.

Nothing seems to go for you when it comes to our tender young age im afraid, they will all hit you with a large compulsory excess.
