As they just 'pop' off.. It's not the light-fingered lads is it??

They are eally easy to remove..as demonstrated by the fitter who changed my windscreen..

I was driving along the motorway and suddenly my passenger trim started flapping in the breeze ! Inspection revealed no clips !

Took the car in for a service and asked them to fix the trim....they didn't have the clips in stock but did give me the part no.

I got the clips from another dealer....but cannot for the life of me get them to fit ! Am i being stupid or is there some "knack" to fitting them ?

Anyone had to fit them and can advise please.

    Cheers

I've recently fitted one after this little incident. Which bits are you having problems with?, the clip bit that runs down the side of the windscreen, or the individual clips that then attach along the roof bit?

    Hi Duncan

The trim that runs down the side of the windscreen....but aren't there individual clips that fit in the channel ? There seem to be 5 u shaped cut outs in the channel and the dealer has provided me 5 clips ! which I cant seem to fit in.I assume the ridge on the back of the trim some how fits into the clips which in turn fit in the channel on the metalwork ?

    Cheers

It's a pity I don't have my old trim anymore, I could've taken pics and explained.

You'll have a bunch of these clips.....

....which is what I assume you were referring to. You use these in the channel that runs along the roof, not in the bit by the windscreen. You push them into the trim so that the little black 'wings' on either end are pointing upwards i.e into the trim. Like this.....

If you were looking from the front of the car, that clip would be that orientation, with that bit on the left clicking under the little lip that runs down the edge of gutter that is closest to the roof.

The clips you just space at intervals along the gutter.

For the bit by the screen, you'll see there is a separate black part (has the rubber bit that fits into where the bonnet starts, that slots into the gutter by the screen first, then you clip the trim into it. It's a fiddly so and so as the black part will keep moving/coming away from the metal channel on the car.

OMG I have just had this happen to me on the way home from work down the A11. Nice and blustery outside and it just whipped straight off.

Please could some kind person confirm the replacement part number(s)? Either a trawl through ebay or a call to my local stealer I think...but an opportunity to clean underneath!!!

    By the screen

    Along the roof, ewwww..

What the other side looks like.

Help please! I have searched but am unsure as the diagrams look like there are several pieces.
