0-60 may be similar, is that what you're meaning?, but the mid-range of the 2.8T will be oodles more than the GSi.

I know the 3.2 engine quite well being an Omega owner.
The 2.8T is an unknown to me, but was amazed its 0-60 time was the same when it has 42 bhp more.......

How good an engine is the 2.8????
The 3.2 is a good engine but does require some looking after, although not as much as it does fitted to an Omega.

Agreed. The twin-scroll turbo in the 2.8T (also in the Insignia 2.8T, and the same design is used in the Astra VXR and Insignia 2.0T engines) means that the turbo spools up much quicker and further minimises lag. Also full torque on stream at about 2,000 revs.

VXR has 280bhp giving 0-60 time of 6.1 seconds
'Detuned' 2.8T gives about 7 seconds - not exactly shabby

No, it'll be the 230bhp version if it's in a Signum.

I had a 2.8T 230. Once you get it going it flies, motorway driving was pure pleasure as overtaking was never an issue. Adored that car but running costs were just too much at the time. I'd have another in a heart beat though.
