Both Good engines, but 2.0T all the way, you can fit a decent exhaust and a induction kit if you want the sound of a V6. The 2.0T has the pulling power off the line, then add a remap... around 220ish BHP... Says it all...

Althought some Vectra V6 GSI's come with more toys I think, 314mm brakes, Xenons etc... but there's not much you can do to improve the engine performance.

All you can really do to the GSi is a induction kit or decent filter and an exhaust, remap's dont do much for it. It is loaded with toys which kind of swings it. Although the 2.0T can be tuned up to get the most out of it.

3.2 V6 for me mate. Why pay extra for what comes on tap in the V6.

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 72K

The 2.0T is a four cylinder engine with the smoothness refinement and driveability, and when remapped, with the power of a six-cylinder 3.2.

But those with 6-cylinder engines would say theirs sound and drive better.

Both cars come with the same exhaust system as standard, but what comes out of the 3.2 is meatier and more tuneful.

If you really want a V6, go for the 3.2, otherwise go for the 2.0T. It would also cost less to buy and run.

Would it really be cheaper to buy in the current climate? I would have thought the 3.2 would be cheaper due to running costs

A 3.2 at the moment is cheaper to buy and because they are pre 2006 tax is only £210 for a year.

I'm with the 3.2 V6 GSi voters on this. Might be due to there being one parked on my drive but why a get a 2.0 and muck about with it (scope for expensive repairs) when you can get a 3.2 and already have the power, the toys and the serious grin factor.
As ByeBye says, make sure it's date of first registration is before March 06 and you don't get the big VED bill.

The MPG is similar on the 2.0T and the 3.2 right? Is the insurance group much different? I sometimes wish I'd held out that little bit longer and bought a "slightly" different car, maybe an elite, never even crossed my mind to look at the GSI at the time, I was too smitten with the Signum shape (Marmite anyone? LOL)
