    Default High Pressure Fuel Pump

I have a 2006 Vectra 2.2 direct auto which had a new fuel pump fitted last october under the warranty. The spanner light has started to come on again so i took it back and they say it needs a new fuel pump. vauxhall said they would pay 60% towards the cost. But supposing it happens again and i have wasted £300.00 shall I not bother having it fixed and part exchanging it for a Mondeo? My Vecta has been in and out the dealership about 7 times in 2 years for the same thing.

Would have thought it would have 12 months parts warranty on it? I'd chase for more as its a known fault.

I'd cut your losses and go for the MM car. Better quality anyways.

Unfortuneatly in your case mate, I would do as do as wickedwillie says, especially if your warranty is at or coming to and end, a mate of mine has a 2004 model and he's on his 3rd fuel pump!!

Trouble is you start to lose confidence in the vehicle and even if it's replaced yet again, how long wlll it be before it goes again and it's the cost each time, VX did claim that there fuel pumps did have a problem and revised ones were being fitted in the event of a fault, however in my mates case he had the revised one fitted (had to wait several weeks , due to backlog of the part) and this one also failed!!

I would be querying that actually as the new pump may have its own one year warranty btw.
