    Default Alarm Problem Fixed??

    Hiya all
My alarm's been going off every now and again seemingly without reason
    ( 54 reg estate ).
I've just linked out the two rear window . I've put a continuity tester on both windows out of interest. One window beeped out - perfect short, the other gave me a reading of 200ohms - Is this what it should be or do you think this is what was setting my alarm off intermittently??.

It makes a bit of sense to me that as it's not a perfect short circuit - the alarm could sometimes see this as a broken wire and sometimes as not a broken wire.

the alarm has not gone off since I've linked it out but it could be upto a week before it went off. fingers crossed!!

    Thanks for any ideas

I have heard this problem before. Just short it out and you will have a quiet alarm.

Where abouts did you put the short steve? Remove the panel in the boot to get to the wires/connectors?
