    Default Really mad

I've just received my tax renewal for my 2.2 direct Sri, Nov 04 reg. It is showing a CO2 rate of 187 g/km which conviniently just pushes it into band f, £190/year.

I checked my handbook/What car magazine/Parkers etc, who all show 185g/km, which is band E, £160/year.

I tried to call Vauxhall helpline and got an utterly clueless Indian woman, who said my car didn't exist. She didn't even know what an SRi was!!

Can anyone give me official figures or a contact number I can ring to get an official confirmation of the CO2 figures.

It'll be on your V5 document Paul. That's the figure they'll use to calclate your band.

    As above Paul.

If they can't get you one way, then they'll get you another.

It says 187 on the V5, but all the documentation I can find says 185. DVLA want something official from Vauxhall.
It's very convinient and seems to be yet another example of the depths this Government sinks to in order to rip off people. I'm fuming.

will also show you the rates. Go through a series of drop down menus to get your reading. It takes into account tyre sizes etc. Did it have factory fitted 18's or anything?

I hate to say it Paul, but go and get a Diesel.

    1.9 CDTi = 159 G/kg (according to my V5)

mmmmmmm....pay an extra £30 or take a £2500 depreciation hit, difficult one that!!

    If I ever got a diesel, it'd be the 3.0 v6.
