should have been a blue extended warranty car in the box

    or http://www.game.co.uk/lowdown.aspx?lid=7125

What If I've Already Bought My Console?

You may still be able to get your console protected. After purchasing your console from a GAME store or Game.co.uk, it may not be too late to take out this great value cover and protect your purchase.
    • Choose between the 2 or 3 years cover depending on how much your console cost, remember it’s only £10 more to protect your console for a further year
    • Refer to the pricing table to find out the cost of your chosen cover.
Then contact Allianz Insurance plc on 0844 391 1050 with the following information to hand:
    • Name
    • Address
    • Receipt of purchase
    • Product you have purchased
    • Date of purchase
    • Credit or Debit Card details for payment to be taken
    • Reward Card Number

Under the traiding standereds act 1974 (I think) the vendor has to garantee goods for a resanable amount of time, electrical goods usualy 5 year. Shops selling extended warrantys are just trying it on becouse most people don't know this. You may have to talk to the maneger and threten small claims court but you are covered.

    Regards

You can get one called continuous play from Sony, I think it's £5 a month.

Thats NOT the case..I sell electrical products for a living.
You get 1 years standard manufacturers garuntee with all products..We dont sell extended garuntee for no reason. Its for peace of mind.

Get in contact with DOMESTIC AND GENERAL..
There the best and its usually 2/3 quid a month..But TRY and get it from the actually manufacturer first..In this case SONY..because any other company will just sent it off to the sony anyways. So buying it from sony would make the whole process much quicker.

BTW all repairs could take upto 28days..Maybe more sometimes..No matter what they say on there sites..It can Be upto 28Days.

We usually just write products off and give customers full money in the form of credit which the can spend in store (and buy the same product agian or anything they want)

Yep go for that one..wait for other posts..But buying direct from the manufacturer is the best way to go. Less Hassle when trying to claim.

No the vendor has an obligation to give reponsibility for the product for up to 6 years after the date of purchase, not to guarantee it. The product will have a 1 year warranty after which the retailer has to offer repair or replacement at reasonable cost.

I know this as I was a Sony repair engineer for 7 years!!
