    Default Telematic insurance?

Anyone know much about it? My boss said the other day all of our company vehicles are getting fitted with a telematic device by the insurance company he told me he didn't know what it did but it wasn't a tracker or anything to keep tabs on you.
i've had a quick search and it seems to be a sort of black box which reports back to the insurance company how i'm driving, if i hadn't checked i'd have been sacked the day after fitting, i'm a "white van man" so you can imagine how i drive.

anyone had any experience with these?

I had a tracker in a company car once, it worked for about 45mins and then it shorted out and didnt work for a few months dont know what was up with it but every time it was fixed it done the exact same thing and shorted out again, must have been something sharp behind the dash
