    Default Need Advise Please

idiot neighbor again told me how he doesnt have to pay for car tax as his wife is on DLA, now this woman cycles 3 times a week, and can wash her car faster than me (maybe cause i take my time)

He is really starting to annoy me, now i am not one of these people who calls up anonomous (spelling) to advise against benefit fraud but last night i didnt say anything to him, just agreed. But now its as if he is rubbing this in my face as its topic of conversation weekly

I have searched the net this morning and spoke about this before , and still cant get correct info,

1 - How many cars does DLA (motability) cover / tax

2 - If there are 2 cars in the house hold , and the other car is also has a disabled tax disc in the window - is he classed as a carer to get this or is he also registered disabled and working full time ?

Any help is appreciated so next time he tells me which it would probably be saturday / sunday i can ask him how he does it

Spenny - forgive me if you've alredy done this but have you tried talking to the DLA Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 88 22 00? They should at least tell you what's what.

Then, depending on your moral status, a call to the National Benefit Fraud hotline could be in order. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/DG_10026666

IIRC, it takes up to 13 weeks to apply and get awarded DLA and that's for both renewals (as some DLA awards have a time scale on them) and new applications so he's either blagging the system or has a genuine case.

At the end of the day, he could be all above board but you never know. It's yours/my taxes that are paying for this so I think you owe it to yourself to find out what's going on.

fair enough the guy might be a tit in the way he is going about his business but is it really worth the hassle that it will probably cause your family in the long run?

I say report it. If she is genuinely disabled and extitled to the RFL rebate, then so be it. Otherwise you will be saving us all money for scroungers..

i would also report it,i find it very annoying for those that claim for disability yet are just as mobile as most of us and more so than some older people who cannot get no help at all.

the powers who do the checking need a big sort out,and not to take the evidence of a local GP,i knew a bloke who after years of alchol abuse pulled his life around, managed to pass his bike test atc, anyway after working for the local council for 2 years he had a big problem with his wrists, his wrists and hands would lock up andhe could not do anything, that is not even write, after many tests the doctors said there was nothing that could be done (this bloke is 58 years old) so he went into the dole office and told them he could not work because of the problem with his hands, their response was he could work as a security guard!! (how can he hold a torch or write anything i dont know),he did not want a disibility allowance just so h did not have to be forced to search for wotk that he could not do,yet i bet this woman has less problems tha my mate had yet he got no help at all,go and work this one out?
