Must admit to ringing around half dozen or so a week prior to renewing. Give them all the same info & as long as they match like for like I pick the cheapest. I have been lucky to have an offer & so a 'good deal' I never tell them my renewal price until I have a price from them. It's usually 'not this time thank you' hth ..........

first question mine asked m8, what size did the car come from the manufacturer with and what size are you putting on, considering phoning back and saying they have 18's (they will allow a 1" difference) can they tell what came with the vehicle?

Could be they have a standard spec & work from that, how many cars have a 'standard' spec I think you just have to give them the info or try another company m8 .....

All 'standard' Vectras (except the VXR/SRI XP) and all Signums (except the facelift 'Exclusiv') came with either 16" or 17" wheels. Bigger wheels were either a cost option or part of a 'pack'. It is not difficult for an Insurer to check.

If an Insurer takes the view that bigger wheels makes the car more desirable (and therefore increases the risk) then they would most likely charge you extra for the privilege.
