    Default Juddering When Pulling Away??

    Hi

My car has started juddering when pulling away in first, is this a clutch problem ??

My car is a 07 plate vectra 1.8 sri with approx 29,000 miles. It has also just decided it needs a service.

Does anybody know how much a service will be from VX and also what the juddering problem is?

    Cheers

    Mark

Yes it is more when cold to be honest. I guess as its due for service I should book it in and get them to look at the juddering while its there and see what they say (

Firstly, I don't know if you're aware that the service doesn't have to be done by VX without affecting manufacturers warranty?

As long as genuine parts are used by a VAT registered garage to the published schedule, VX cannot refuse warranty claims.

It sounds like the clutch has an issue. This almost certainly will be covered by warranty..

This has been a known issue on the 1.8's, and also the 1.6 Astra's.

What your referring to is clutch judder, normally only happening in 1st gear, and once you get out of it, you no longer have the problem.

It would be covered under warranty so I wouldnt worry too much. Only worry if they refuse to do anything with it, or try to say there is nothing wrong.

You will find that if you get the clutch depressed to the correct point, with enough revs, yuo can avoid the "judder". Call it a sweet spot if you will

    Thanks for the replys

Yes if you increase the revs abit then it does not judder so much but definately something is not right somewhere. I would imagine it would have to be covered under warranty Hopefully !
