Default Insurance Query.. Had an Accident:(

Springs were changed on my car about 3months to pi's.
never thought to tell my insurance company and the car is going to a vauxhall garage on friday for extensive repairs. will this invalidate my insurance should i worry about it?
should i change them to original springs before sending away???

    Thanks

The springs will invalidate your insurance. So could the k&n panel filter if not declared.

They will argue that you have modified the performance and handling of your car without informing them.

You also could be done for no insurance.

I would return it to it's unmodded state..... maybe a lesson learned here is to inform your ins company of any mods...

I found it easier and cheaper in the long run to to admit all mods at the start or whenever fitted.

hmm, when I took my insurance on the company asked me if I had any mods to declare at which point I stated yes.

whatever insurance policies I have taken they always ask this. I also think in the info they send out with your policy it states that you need to declare any changes to you or the car.

    But it's a lesson learned.

what is the damage ??? if it relates to areas of repair the repairer may call the insurance company and set off the alarm bells if it looks like there have been "amendments" to the vehicles characteristics - i.e. can see that there is no dirt on road springs or nuts look like they have been loosened and retightened recently - in the current economic climate with insurance companies being defrauded daily i would be very very careful

if you were unsure, did you ask the insurance company?

if you did, and they said ok then youre fine

if you didn't, and just left it, then you may have trouble

k&n panel filter will not invalidate your insurance thats a definate as i asked my insurer the same thing(when i put one on my vec), the springs would invalidate it i'd imagine , whether they'd notice when doing the repairs is another matter ?

I'd change it all back to standard just to be safe m8
