    Default Has anyone else...

    gone to the dealer to price pads and been told that their car has police spec calipers?? I hope they are right because i went to my local accessories shop and bought a set of Lucas police spec pads for 25 quid bargain! (imo)

    i know the police use police spec pads, but calipers...?

    Thats what i thought. They are only 285's. I didn't even think the police would have discs as little as that on thier vec's

    they use the same size pad thats for sure cause you can fit em to 'std' calipers so i think you were fed some bull mate.

    Well it was more the parts guy who was gettin fed bull. I know him personally. Its was his computer that was telling him that lol damn computers. Although there is believe it or not a difference in the pads. When i went to the accessory shop (again i know the guy) he showed me the measurements for the pads and there was a whole 1mm difference in them. Not too bothered as its the compound thats different and my old ones are starting to disintigrate so anythings better than that

    sorry i meant the sizing to fit the same calipers. Yes, there are marginal differences. Glad you got a good price.

    Police spec are 314mm, same as on v6 petrol and diesel's. VX do a police spec pad for them also. On the facelift however they are the VXR 345's. 285 are just standard disks with stock calipers. HTH
