    Default Stienmetz Quality

Got my steinmetz roof spoiler and i must say, its nowhere near the quality of irmscher kit. Its somewhere between the fibreglass stuff you get from Jap spoilers R us and irmscher. It doesnt fit snug with the roof either and will need clamping down pretty welll while the bonding sets, if that will actually hold it at all. I think it may even need a couple of self tapers to keep it to shap and stop it springing back flat again. It also doesnt go to the full width of the tailgate either but is about 8 or 9mm short (which i can split between the two sides).

for £155 im not overly impressed and considering sending it back

Anyone else had expereince with Steinmetz stuff?

My front spoiler was very poorly finished compared to irmscher., The edges at the corners needed sanding and filling, the bodyshop thought it was very poor, they had to do quite a bit of work on it, definately not a diy job. That said it is a good bit cheaper than irmscher ...

agree with Chris, £155 means a product that fits, not bodging around for a half ****d job. - send it back.

As above mate. You know it makes sense.

    For £155 you expect better.

To be fair the Irmscher stuff isn't the best quality either.. Especially for the cash.

My roof spoiler looked ****** awful until I had the bodyshop smooth it in slightly. Looked too tacked on. Fit was ok.

But then Irmscher steering wheel is stunning!!

Irsmcher pedals also fit very well.

But then I wasn't overally impressed with the Irmscher handbrake cover....

send it back mate. You have just helped me strike one possible mod off the list as i liked the design of that more than the irmscher

im quite surprised that its poor quality considering the price

If you put it on mate it will probably always stick out as not fitting 'right'( well to you ) so might be easier to send it back..

its a real shame as it generally looks really good on the car. Really subtle but casts a nice shadow on the back window, enough to make it stand out if you know what i mean.

You can see where they have tried to follwo the lines of the roof rails etc but as the spoiler is that little too short, its doesnt line up right.

Its got a curve on it to fit the roof curve, but not enough and if held tight at one end, it sticks up about 1cm at the other. It does bend, but im not sure the bonding agent would hold it for any length of time.

Really disapointed as it does look good on the car.

    update,

rang Chris rossiter at Rossiters to tell him the above, and on double checking it appears ive been sent the one for a saloon, rather than a 5 door.

Hes going to get a new one sent to me and old one collected. Nice guy and very helpful and apologetic.
