nice mate
You not tempted Martin?
Very - unfortunately having no certain job in 6 months, having to find somewhere to live at the same time, and it being an Auto put me off...
It's a b****r because the Design trim (which you need to have the manual 2.8 as you did) lacks a lot of the features of the Elite, and you can never guarantee they've got the wiring for everything in place...
Having gone from an Elite to a Design, all you lose is the heated front seats, leather and climate control.
Leather is easy to find and fit, I find that not having climate is not an issue as I think normal A/C is good.
Fitting heated seats is a bit hit and miss with the wiring which is a downer, but you gain sports seats and sports suspension!
Question is, how do you fit a VXR gearknob onto an Auto.......................
Where there's a will there's a way.
I'd have to have a drive in both to see how the performance changed, but nothing an EDS remap couldn't sort out...
Also, after my 1200 mile road trip to America later this year in my 2.7 Chrysler 300, I may be sold on automatics....
I think it's the climate control that would annoy me, plus the probable lack of wiring looms for fitting other stuff, ie if you've got a dimming drivers wing mirror, chances are the wiring will be there for the folding motors too...
Still, not a decision I'll have to make any time soon. By the time I do, they'll be even cheaper...
