    Eek Worn Out Suspension

I have bought myself a Vectra 2.0 GLS Estate
Got to admit its a great car, its had one owner from new and they have looked after it very very well.
Its got a Vauxhall Service stamp in the book for every service when it was due and a mountain of paperwork with it
This car has had a small fortune spent on it over the past 9 years and it shows.
There are a couple of faults with the car that I hope to get sorted.

The Suspension is rather worn out
(I know how it feels )
I have searched all over the place for some standard shocks and springs but all I can seem to find are "Lowering Kits"
As I am going to be carrying tools and equipment in the back of the car I don't want it any lower, if anything it could do with being a bit stiffer ?

Any of you experts got any ideas on where I can get a full set of shocks and springs for a Vectra Estate that isn't going to cost me a re-mortgage of the house

    Many Thanks

    CD

A motor factors would be a good move but to be honest Genuine parts like that aren't really that expensive. You usually find on suspension systems you get stung by the dealers for Labour and not the parts.

    Thanks Steve & Teamtom
I have tried about 6 local to me and they are all quoting £400+
Can't be THAT much can it ?
Reading through the other posts I see a lot og guys getting full kits for £250+ but can't seem to be able to find anyone that does a normal set of shocks and springs for less than £400
Thats over half of what I paid for the car and just not worth it

    Thanks for the reply though

That IS the price from the Motor Factors
They are no cheaper than getting them direct from Vauxhall

    Thank You

Will give them a call on Monday as the only parts showing on the web site are sports lowering springs ?

    Thanks

Had a bit of a search and this is the best price so far

Shock Absorber (Front Hydraulic Left), 35192 | Qty: 1 | Total for Product: £59.98

    | Shock Absorber (Front Hydraulic Right), 35198 | Qty: 1 | Total for Product: £59.98

    | Shock Absorber (Rear Hydraulic Left), 51094 | Qty: 1 | Total for Product: £31.98

    | Shock Absorber (Rear Hydraulic Right), 51094 | Qty: 1 | Total for Product: £31.98

    | Coil Spring (Front), 4094662 | Qty: 2 | Total for Product: £73.98

    | Coil Spring Rear, 4263473 | Qty: 1 | Total for Product: £75.99

    Product £333.89
    Carriage £4.95
    VAT £50.83
    Total £389.67

looks like the cars going up for sale or broken for spares as thats over half what I paid for it and its just not worth spending that much money on it IMHO
    Thanks for the help guys
    Much appreciated

    Colin
