    Default Help please...

Hello everyone I'm a newbie to this site, it looks like there are people here with good technical knowledge of all things vauxhall? This could be a good thing as I'm a little bit stuck!

My car is a just recently acquired siggy 2.2 Dti 04 plate. Now then, looking from the front of the car, down on the right hand side between the engine and the base of the battery box there is a little solenoid looking gizmo thingy.

It has two nipple things (oo, err!) problem is some time in the previous, a gremlin, evil pixie or nupty has removed all vacuum pipes from this solenoid thing.

Can any kind soul out there with a 2.2 dti, have a look under their bonnet and let me Know what should be attached to the top and bottom nipps and where these pipes of infinite mystery go to???

To be honest mate i cannot make head nore tail of that pic , can you take some of the engine bay but not as close as this one , because these system,s vary quite a lot and the solenoids are often mounted in different places depending on where the car was manufactured.

Ok will do, your right about the location thing. Haynes manual 4618 for the 2.0 has the turbo wastgate solenoid on the left hand of the engine bay above the air box. page 4B.9 pic 10.55 if you have the good book of confusion to hand. mine is cliped on to the side of the battery tray steel not far from the vacuum pump!

Hi mate you should have a vacuum hose running from your turbo to your solenoid connects into the bent rubber hose in the pic .
now you should also have a hose from the vacuum unit itself ( the round unit on the right hand end of your cam shaft housing ), to the solenoid via a tee piece which loops off to the other solenoids .which in turn fed your boost sensor and the egr valve

    hope this helps regards bob
