    Default First detail with G220...

As some of you know ive bought myself a Meguiars G220 DA Polisher, and decided I was going to try it out this weekend (actualy, I was itching to give it a go )

Washed the car in the usual way before.

So using the G220 and the 7" polishing pad (also got the buffing and cutting pads) and Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish, I set about polishing. I didnt acheive full paint correction as it was my first attempt with this, but I decided to take time on each panel and make sure I give it as many passes as possible to break the polish down and get the best from it.

After polishing, I gave this "spit shining" a go. The idea it that you wax once, then spray a liqiud onto the car and spread it around, then seal it in with another layer of wax. This then creates the wet look. I tried it with Pinnacle Souveran wax and Megs QD spray. Once finished, I was left with this.....

Sorry this one is slightly blurred...

    The tree shot....

And a couple showong the flake popping nicely

As you can see i didnt achieve 100% correction but probably close to 90% as there are hardly any scratches or swirls on the paint now, where as before they were obvious in direct sunlight.

Thanks for reading, as usual, comments appriciated good or bad, as would any hints or tips.

    Cheers
    Matt

Many Thanks to everyone for the kind comments, very much appriciated.

It is good fun Ed and as you say the DA makes it much easier. I think the trick is to take time with it and not rush the job. Have you ever tried the Spit Shining thing?
