    Default aftermarket HU question

i have been thinking about new HU for quite a long time by now, but the only problem is that i want to have steering wheel controls and i want the device to turn on/off with ignition like the radio which i have now..

kenwood does adapters for steering wheel controls so i think it will be my first choice. however, today while i was reading fitting instructions i got to this warning:

"These Opel vehicles do not feature a 12v ignition feed to the Head-Unit. The replacement unit will need to be manually turned off (or face panel removed) when the user exits the vehicle. If desired an ignition input can be added by disconnecting the bullet connector on the red wire (Harness A) and adding a flying lead to take this to a true ignition feed (Normally located at the Ignition barrel or fuse box)."

So, does this mean that it wont turn on/off with ignition? Are the steps mentioned above complicated to do because i'm a total beginner and I won't be fitting it anyway..

Is there any chance to get it working with ignition?

so it turns on and off with ignition? that sounds like a simple solution to me?

the only problem is that it would never work without ignition though..

Mine is a facelift with a Jvc hu with the quadlock adapter autoleads steering wheel controls not wired up to cigarette lighter just the ordinary wiring and it only works with the ignition turned on so it is possible!
